A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words Happy Birthday, Hal!

Who knew? As you look through the birthday party pictures below, you might notice that Hal has a wardrobe change about halfway through the party. Well, that's because he threw up! Apparently, he got upset because it was not gift opening time and he puked. This is pretty much the routine. This kid can throw up on command. He got the stylish Chuck E. Cheese t-shirt from an employee that was cleaning the bathroom. What a day!

Party at Chuck E. Cheese - AGAIN!

Hal's birthday party was today at Chuck E. Cheese. His party was there last year too. Needless to say, we've had just about enough of Chuck E. Cheese. We are hoping for something new next year.

Early Birthday Gift

Happy Early Birthday, Hal!

Naptime At the Beach

This is what I found today when I went in to check on Hal during his nap. He has set up a "beach umbrella." As you can see, Elmo, Monk Monk, Bay Bay and Bear are all enjoying a day at the beach as well. Bless his heart, I guess he is ready for a vacation.

Halamander

I can't believe my little baby will be three years old in 11 days! As I watch him grow and change each day, I am constantly reminded of what a blessing he has been to our lives. I can't remember what life was like without him. Now, "the little blessing" does visit time-out quite a few times throughout the week. He also makes me question my sanity from time to time, but the good times far outweigh the bad.

I think if I could describe Hal in one word it would be - funny. He cracks me up all day long. When he gets mad at me for correcting him or telling him that he can't do something, he corrects me right back. For example, he loves to tell me to go sit on "The Fot" (the spot) or that he is going to "Fank" me (spank). He also gives me several choices throughout the day. He is constantly reminding me that we can either go outside or play in his playroom. Those are my choices and I can "pick one." The alternative is always "the fot." If I don't do what he says, he tells me that I am "driving him nut heads." I think he created nut heads as a cross between me telling him that he is a nut head and that he is driving me nuts.

He also LOVES the song Won't Go Home Without You by Maroon 5. Don't ask me. He actually knows the lyrics (Yikes!) and sings along as loud as he can in the car. We listen to the same song about 50 times in a row until he informs me that it is "annoying" him now.

As I write this blog entry he is trying to convince me to buy him a skateboard at Walgreens. He saw it when he bought his pills the other day. ????

Hal also has several imaginary friends. I don't know whether to laugh about this or worry about it. He has Ka Ka, Ju Ju Bean, and Connie Shoop. Who in the world knows where he came up with these names, but they come over each day and do all sorts of naughty things around our house. I think this all started with Santa's Elf that came to live at our house last Christmas. Anything that goes wrong is a result of one of these troublemakers.

Hal's First Visit to the Dentist

Today was Hal's first trip to the dentist. He walked right in and climbed up in the chair for his cleaning. He seemed a little nervous at first, but he quickly relaxed and let Mrs. Wendy clean his teeth. I am still in shock!

Happy Father's Day Weekend!

Happy Father's Day
"Walk a little slower, Daddy,"
Said the little child so small.
"I'm following in your footsteps,
And I don't want to fall."
"Sometimes your steps are very fast,
Sometimes they're hard to see.
So walk a little slower, Daddy,
For you are leading me."
"Someday when I'm all grown up,
You are what I want to be.
Then I will have a little child
Who'll want to follow me."
"And I would want to lead just right,
And know that I was true.
So walk a little slower, Daddy,
For I must follow you."

Random Cute Picture

My mom bought this pool float for Hal. We'll see if he can actually stay on it tomorrow when we go for a swim!

Decorating for Father's Day

Even though Hal wasn't quite sure what we were doing at the cemetery this afternoon, he was rather impressed with the grave digging that was going on. I'm sure the guys that were digging the graves were wondering why I was taking pictures of them.

Happy Father's Day, Harold E. Landrum!

This is a picture of Harold P. Landrum standing in front of Harold E. Landrum Gym. I'm sure most of you already know that Hal was named after David's father that passed away when he was ten years old. I never had the opportunity to meet the man behind the name, but it seems like everywhere we go there is someone asking if we are related to "THE HAROLD LANDRUM." He was the principal of Pleasant Grove High School and after he died they named the new gym after him. We have been meaning to take these pictures for a long time. This gym has always meant so much to David. We tried to explain the gym to Hal today, but he is still a little too young to understand. I'm sure one day he will hear all of the great stories about his grandfather and be proud to share his name.

Hal's Summer Book Club

Hal has started a summer book club. He recommends that this book be read while wearing only Crocs. Thank goodness for photo cropping!

"The Professa"

These glasses were taken from Mimi's house the other day. Pop has taken the glass out of them so that Hal can wear them. He loves to put them on and have people call him "The Professa!"
