Birthday Boy!

Our Baby Boy

The date was July 1st
Of the year 2005
The time was 11:21
When you decided to arrive.

We held you in our arms
Loving you with all our hearts
Really needing nothing more
Our family had its start.

We brought you home and loved you so
Our journey had begun
We began to learn just what it meant
To be the parents of a son.

As time went by
You learned new things
As we held your hand
You found your wings.

Before we knew it
You were on your feet
All over the house
Sometimes in the street!

The talking began
And has not ceased
Chanting Dada and Mama
We were so pleased.

Now here you are
Turning 2 years old
The time has flown
Just as we were told.

Our biggest hope
Is that you’ll always know
You’re our baby boy
No matter how big you grow!

Birthday Gift from Mimi & Pop

First Official Haircut

Hal had his first official haircut today. He was such a big boy! I have been cutting Hal's hair myself, but the last time I cut my finger because he was squirming around so much. So, it was time to let the professionals take over.

Water Babies

We met with some of our baby pals and moms this morning for some pool time. It worked out that there were four of us that didn't have to work today so we were able to plan a short play date. We weren't able to stay long, but we had a good time.

Missing Tooth?

I thought this picture was so cute, but it looks like he is missing one of his front teeth. :)

First Day of School!

Little man started a Mother's Day Out program today. I was so worried that he would cry and beg to come home. I prayed all morning and worried that he would be upset. I even told the teacher to call me if he cried to come home. NOPE! He marched right on in and never looked back. We had been practicing his teacher's name - Mrs. Sue - and he went right to her. His teachers said that he really got in to the Hokey Pokey dance and the Itsy Bitsy Spider. My little buddy is getting so big. We took this picture this morning before we left. Check out that "Shire Man" gear!

Happy Father's Day!

This is the only family photo we managed to get this weekend. I wish Hal had been looking at the camera, but it was close enough I guess. We had a great time celebrating Father's Day together.

Demanding!

Apparently Mama doesn't understand that we must play music as loudly as possible and dance ALL DAY LONG.

Still Dancing!

Still dancing! Never mind that he nearly knocked himself out 5 minutes ago (check out the goose egg forming over the right eye).

Wake Up Mama!

Uh oh! She caught me!

Got Milk?

I don't know how we are ever going to get this little man potty trained when he insists on drinking 8 oz of milk before bedtime. He starts chanting MILK at about 8:00 each night.

Remember this picture?

I took this picture in Gulf Shores over Spring Break(posted on April 16th). David's mom took it to one of her students and had them sketch it for me for Mother's Day. I just love it! She framed it for us and we have it hanging in our den.

A Family Divided

This is a picture of Uncle Steven trying to brainwash Hal into believing the Roll Tide is better than War Eagle. Not going to happen, but it is a cute picture of both of them.

A Visit From the Bobcat!

Last night around 9:00 I was outside with Hal using the hose to clean Hal's sheets (another story) when David spotted an orange colored cat crossing the street. We really didn't think anything of it and joked that it was probably THE BOBCAT. Anyway, around 4:30 this morning we woke up to a horrible screaming/screeching sound in our yard. It sounded like a cat fighting with another cat. David went to look out the window and there he (the bobcat) was running through our front yard. This thing is really getting to be a nuisance!

Yikes!

As I was driving into our subdivision tonight I was alarmed to see this sign posted at the entrance. I immediately pictured a black panther wandering the streets of our neighborhood. David later informed me that bobcats are not that big, but it doesn't make me feel any better. David and I were once cornered by a house cat that I was pet sitting! I'd hate to think of what would happen should this guy show up on our front porch.

Is that Hal on a Rascal?

Mimi & Pop took Hal to a carnival on Saturday. He didn't ride any of the actual carnival rides, but he did enjoy some time on Ms. Kim's motorized scooter and the fire truck (shire truck). We also found out that he is crazy about cheese fries (see top right picture).
The Croup is still going strong and we are going to the doctor tomorrow. He started running a fever today, so we are going to make sure he doesn't have anything else on top of the Croup.

Croup Again!

Well, it looks like Hal has the Croup again! He started coughing a little on Saturday and by the time he woke up from his nap today he was barking like a seal. There is just no mistaking that awful Croup cough. Hopefully, we won't be up all night tonight.

Eating Mama's Birthday Cake

Tonight we went to my mom's house to celebrate my 29th birthday. My actual birthday is May 30th, but we were headed home from the beach on that day. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family and I appreciate all that they do for me.
