Our Little Buddy

What a sweet little smile!

We love MoMo!

This is the great Milo! He is the best dog that has ever lived. We got him in the summer of 1996. He still lives with my mother. I think she loves him as much as she loves my brother and me. :)

A conversation with Hal -
Do you want to eat?...No
Do you want to play?...No
Do you want to go outside?...No
Do you want to go inside?...No
Do you want to go to bed?...No
Do you want a million dollars?...No

I love bugs!

Playing in the grass at Mimi's

I was trying to get Hal to come inside and play. As usual, he went limp and threw himself down on the ground in protest. Then he started pulling up the grass and throwing it. I guess that made him feel better! Gotta love those toddler tantrums.

Cake is Good!

Tonight was Mama Crane's birthday party. She turned 89 this month. We celebrated with some good old chocolate cake.

Ok, so I lied! THIS is the last old picture.

Who doesn't need a little Christmas '05 in April '07?

One More Old Picture

It seems like yesterday that I took this picture of my little buddy. He was only three months old despite the fact that he looks three years old. My how different life is today! Looking back on the past two years I can't believe how our lives have changed. This job of being a mother has been more work than I could have ever dreamed, but it has also been completely rewarding. He has taught David and me so much about ourselves in just two years. Just when you think you've got this parenting thing figured out, the little one changes and it's a whole new set of challenges. I have always prayed that God would help me to be more patient. I originally thought that my students were sent to teach me patience. Boy, was I wrong!

October 2005 - 3 months old

David's mom took this picture of Hal one day while I was at work. I think it is just the funniest thing ever. He looks so proud of himself. It's hard to believe he was ever this little.

Newborn Pictures of Hal

Oh don't I wish I would have started this blog when Hal was born. I just love looking at all the blogs with the little infant pictures. These little ones are just too cute. I decided to post a few of Hal's itty bitty newborn pics (he was never really itty bitty). I figured this was a better idea than just having another baby for the sake of having infant pics on the blog.

Baby Feet

There is just nothing cuter than baby feet. I came across this when I was looking through all of our beach pictures. I thought it was just so sweet. This was actually taken while we were trying to dust the sand off of his feet. He wasn't a fan of sand between his toes.

Enjoying lots of attention

Uncle Doc & Cheese

This is Hal with David's brother Steve and his wife Michelle. Hal calls her Cheese for some reason and he calls Steve "Doc" because David does. Something from the movie The Burbs.

Last one - I promise!

I love pictures!

Sweet Boy?

Our Lucky Day

I took Hal to have his picture made today. He was not very cooperative at first, but the pictures turned out cute anyway. I nearly had a nervous breakdown in the process. Thank goodness Nana came along to take little man straight out the door when we were finished. After leaving, I went straight to the bookstore and bought two books - Parenting the Strong Willed Child & Temper Your Child's Tantrums.

Hal & Nana

More pictures of Hal & Nana enjoying the new sand and water table.

New Sand & Water Table

Nana bought Hal this sand and water table. He had fun playing with it in the backyard this afternoon. He has felt pretty good today. We thought he was over the virus yesterday, and he threw up all over David at a restaurant in Gulf Shores. He seemed just fine, and all of the sudden it was back! Needless to say, it was not a fun experience. So, this time I'm not going to say he is feeling better. I'm just going to keep my fingers crossed and pray that it is over soon.

Matching Crocs

Hal and David have matching Crocs. I think they are so cute.

Sweet Baby

I love this picture. Hal looks like a little version of my Papa. He used to wear hats like this one. He would have loved playing with this little guy at the beach.

I Don't Feel Good

Sick Boy Day 5

I'm not sure if this is ever going to end. Just when we think we are in the clear, he is sick again.

Still Sick

Well, he is still throwing up. I put him down for his nap today and I thought we were over this mess. He started running a fever again and threw up 30 minutes into his nap. The good news is he is being very good about drinking liquids. He got a crazy straw in his birthday bag last week at Anna Kate's party. He loves drinking Sprite out of that straw. So, hopefully he is staying hydrated. I just wish he could keep some food down. Right now we are on our 15th viewing of some Santa Claus video.

Sick Baby

We've got one sick baby. Hal has an awful stomach virus. He went to get a shot yesterday, and I think he caught it at the doctor's office. I took him back to the doctor today to make sure it wasn't a reaction to the shot. Apparently, lots of kids have been coming in with the same symptoms. He has been throwing up and running a fever for two days now. Hopefully, he will be better tomorrow. Say a prayer that we don't have anymore throwing up tonight.

Hunting Eggs Again!

Hal has lots of fun with his "Uncle Bu." He has taught him to salute and play Here Comes Albert.

Easter Morning

Well, he was still rather unimpressed with the Easter Bunny thing. Maybe next year!

Long Day!

Well, we just put Hal to bed after one of the longest days in history. It started with an Easter egg hunt at the church. Then, it was on to Anna Kate's birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese. From there, we came home for a short nap and we were off again. Our last stop was Portrait Innovations. We were scheduled to have Hal's Easter pictures made. When we arrived, there was standing room only and a family of 20 was preparing to have their picture taken. There were several other families in line that brought three and four changes of clothes. We waited for over an hour, past the store closing time and finally threw in the towel when Hal started taking off his shoes and rolling around the floor. We had to reschedule! Lesson learned. Never go to Portrait Innovations on a Saturday.

Always on the "Shone"

Birthday Girl

This is Chris & Karen's little girl Anna Kate. She is an absolute doll. She played hard today and had a great 2nd birthday party.
